If you love the desert it is more than likely that you’ve sat down and thumbed through an old issue or two of Desert Magazine. The magazine was published from 1937-1985, and saw a resurgence as Dezert Magazine from 2013-2015. Desert Digest is NOT the new Desert Magazine, however it is very much influenced by this pioneering desert publication.
I have put together a team of writers that I feel are the quintessential desert writers of today. Chris Clarke is California’s leading environmental writer, and the environmental editor for KCET in Los Angeles. John Grasson is the leading expert on the Lost Ship of the Desert, long time lost treasure hunter, he was also the publisher of Dezert Magazine from 2013-2015. Tom Garrison is the author of two outstanding Southern Utah guide books, ” Hiking Southwest Utah and Adjacent Areas.” Kim Ulmanis is a long time blogger that caught my attention with her Bad-Ass Women of Route 66 blog. M.L. Behrman (or Mike Behrman) is the author of the J.Everett Earl Western Thrillers series, and an expert in the desert paranormal and weird.
The first issue of Desert Digest will be out January – March issue, with a hopeful release prior to Christmas 2016. The magazine is printed in full color, 7″ x 10″ in size, and bound (like a book).
